Trombone Sectional Dinner Party
I threw a dinner party the first week of break for the trombone marching band kids from high school. If I hadn’t lived at my co-op this past semester, I wouldn’t have been ready to host a dinner party by myself. Several people helped cook and prepare so that made things much easier as well.

There were quite a few things I would change for next time, but the food turned out great and we had a good time. =)

Me, most likely nervous!

Tiffany justifying some silly thing she did while Brian does a facepalm. <3

Next time I’d start cooking earlier (4 PM instead of 4:30 PM), and set the table before everyone arrived. Also, remember to use the good silverware and very importantly, our salad bowl. We do have a nice salad bowl. Luckily, I think my guests that night are not very discerning in any case: “Woh, we have oil?!”

On the menu: baked ziti primavera (we used rotini instead of ziti), artisan bread from Trader Joe’s, and salad.

Brian helped serve, among other things.

Credits also go to Jon, Tiffany, Christina, Justin, Andrew, and Mom (as always). Felicia and Amanda also hung out with Jon and me when we went shopping at Safeway.

Dinner was lovely!

Andrew took all of these lovely photos. Photography is a super useful skill! I forgot to ask someone to take a picture of Andrew and me as well. Oops. Soo, there are no photos of him here!

Jon came by extra early to help make tiramisu. I didn’t know that tiramisu had rum (we used brandy) and espresso in it. I didn’t know a lot of stuff about tiramisu. Anyway, this stuff was delicious!

We played Cranium after dinner. I really prefer Taboo, Apples to Apples, and Pictionary though. Note to self for the future.

Hopefully we can continue to get together as the years go by! “…because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.”
